Meet Your Therapist...
Kuni Hosaka, PT, ATC
"I have taken it upon myself to help educate the local community about how correct movement patterns, regular exercise regimens, and an overall awareness/concern for your own body can improve your quality of life."
Movement Specialist
Movement is an essential aspect of our lives because it allows us to function in this world. Each occupation in the workforce requires a unique pattern of movements. A laborer, a housekeeper, and a high level athlete all need to be able to perform different movement patterns. Therefore, it can be assumed that almost all chronic and mechanical conditions are caused by poor movement patterns. Physical Therapists need to identify how a patientŐs symptoms are caused or affected by the way the patient performs a particular activity.

Striving for improvement
In order to achieve my personal goals in life, maintaining my own body and physical condition is crucial. This helps me to understand how the human body should move and function, which helps me to address the underlying cause of a patient's symptoms. I believe the more a patient understands "what's going on" inside the body, the better he or she can have a positive affect on his or her health. Currently, I am pursuing an advanced clinical certification through a post-professional manual therapy residency program. By successfully completing this manual therapy residency program, I will be able to attain more knowledge and hone my clinical skills to achieve my overall goal of improving my patient's experiences.
Giving back to my community and profession
Since I left Japan in 2000, I have had many great opportunities to improve myself personally and professionally. I believe these opportunities have helped me give back to the community by allowing me to provide a great level of care to each patient I treat. I have taken it upon myself to help educate the local community about how correct movement patterns, regular exercise regimens, and an overall awareness/concern for your own body can improve your quality of life. I have done this by volunteering my time at local health fairs and other public forums and look forward to doing more in the future.
