Meet Your Therapist...
Liz Menchaca, PT
"I make it my personal mission to not only get the patient better, but also ensure that they fully understand how to maintain what was gained."
Balance...
I feel the practice of Physical Therapy should include the ultimate balance of compassion, professionalism and utilization of current research based techniques to guide my patients to health. Although symptom control is a large part of physical therapy, I believe it is imperative to find and treat the cause of each patient's ailment or injury rather than just treating their symptoms. I make it my personal mission to not only get each patient better, but also to ensure they are given the knowledge they need to maintain the physical gains they made during their physical therapy experience and can prevent re-injury.

The eternal student and teacher...
I am a self proclaimed eternal student. Everyday, there is something that I can learn. I always look for ways to improve and diversify my knowledge to ensure my patients get the most beneficial treatment possible. I believe, as a Physical Therapist, I play a significant role as a teacher on each patient's road to recovery and better health. I have discovered if the patient genuinely understands the cause of their symptoms and how treatments such as manual therapy and a personalized exercise regimen can directly and positively impact their condition, they will decrease the potential of reinjuring themselves.
Serving my community
I have always been told that true, genuine, and effective leaders tend to lead by example. I demonstrate a life dedicated to health and fitness by running and cycling. I have participated in countless 5K's, half marathons and have also ran a full marathon. I have also completed the MS150, the Tour de Cure, and numerous duathlons in San Antonio and surrounding areas. While I fully enjoy any and all running and cycling, perhaps most rewarding is when my passion inspires patients to continue, or better yet, begin exercising.
