Meet Your Therapist...

Michael Beville, PT

"To be a successful healthcare professional and offer the best care possible, one must have a passion for what they do and possess a hunger for knowledge."

The making of a physical therapist
I always knew I wanted a career in the healthcare field, but I did not realize physical therapy would be my career choice until after I completed my undergraduate degree. After graduating from college, I returned to Colorado Springs, CO to help care for my grandmother, who needed bilateral knee replacement surgery. I was able to assist her therapists with her postoperative home care, inpatient rehab and outpatient therapy. Through this experience, I found physical therapy to be quite rewarding and fulfilling, and upon returning to San Antonio, I applied and was accepted into the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio physical therapy program. As a physical therapy student, I was fortunate to come to Momentum Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab for my outpatient orthopedic affiliation. Upon graduation, I was hired as a staff physical therapist in June 2006.

Licensure in Physical Therapy: Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

MPT: Master of Physical Therapy, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, TX

BS: Bachelor of Science, Health Care Sciences, University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, TX

BS: Bachelor of Science, Biology, University of Texas, San Antonio, TX

Member: American Physical Therapy Association, Texas Physical Therapy Association

What the future holds
To be a successful healthcare professional and offer the best care possible, one must have a passion for what they do and possess a hunger for knowledge. I believe that I have these qualities. My plans are to pursue continuing education in manual therapy for the latest and most effective examination and treatment techniques available. I am also interested in pursuing an advanced degree in physical therapy, either earning a DPT or PhD.

You must give a little back
I am originally from Colorado but have lived in San Antonio since 1986. Having lived in San Antonio for most of my life, I have come to love this city and appreciate all that it has to offer. For a community that has been so good to me, I feel it is only right to give back as much as possible. Throughout my college and graduate school career, I had the privilege of being involved in various community service activities and organizations, including Alzheimer's care, Habitat for Humanity and the Ronald McDonald House. I also had the opportunity to return to my high school, North Side Health Careers HS, and mentor students interested in the physical therapy profession.
